Beginning Film

In a rough neighborhood, a group of junior high kids, led by rebellious Jaxon "Jax" Rivera, gets entangled in a dangerous scheme orchestrated by Victor "The Deceiver" Ward—a silver-tongued con artist—and his imposing sidekick, Brick Daniels. Victor manipulates Jax into stealing a valuable artifact, the Cross of Lorraine, from a local antique shop owned by Mr. Augustus "Gus" Finch, an eccentric old man with a past in the same tough streets. Though Gus has since found peace, using his collection to teach lessons of faith and morality, Victor convinces the kids that Gus stole the cross from his family. Eager for approval and lured by promises of wealth and status, Jax and his friends—Zay, Lila, E.Z., Sadie, and Anika "Ani" Patel—attempt the heist. But when Gus catches them in the act, he surprises them with kindness and invites them into a world of wonder, using seven intricate boxes to tell them "The Greatest Story Ever Told"—a live allegory of creation, temptation, and redemption that unfolds on stage.

Allegory Story in the Seven Boxes

Each box unlocks a different scene, weaving an allegory with deep symbolism:

  • The Creation Box**: The Creator brings beauty and harmony into the world.

  • The Black Box**: Symbolizing the Fall, it releases evil when humans, driven by curiosity, open it.

  • 3. The Magic Box**: Introducing the Deceiver, this box reveals his cunning and desire to lead humanity astray.

  • The Shiny Box**: Represents humanity's desires for vanity, power, and success, which pull them from the Creator’s light.

  • The Wood Box**: A symbol of humility, this box represents the birth of Christ.

  • The Gift Box**: Further tempts humanity into bondage, signifying sin's grasp.

  • The Tomb Box**: Represents Christ's death and resurrection, ultimately conquering the evil unleashed by the Black Box.

In a blend of film and live performance, the story on stage mirrors the kids' own lives, showing them the dangers of deception and the power of truth. Gus uses the allegory to plant seeds of doubt about Victor's intentions, urging the kids to reconsider their choices.
